Outline of Montgomery County 2025 (Print and Online Versions)

 

The Electronic Comprehensive Plan

Due to a combination of budget restraints and the possibilities that web-based documents offer in terms of offering the broadest possible range of materials and resources, the primary version of the Montgomery County, 2025 will be constucted using electronic media.

The official version will be published on cdrom, using a pdf format. While there will be a minimal charge for the cdrom to cover production costs, copies will be provided free of charge to the public libraries, the schools, and non-profit organizations.

The online version, which will offer greater flexibility and possibilities for linkage, will be provided through the Planning Department portion of the Montgomery County Planning Department website. In addition, the web-based version of the comprehensive plan will feature the annual indicator reports and other periodic updates, which the print and cdrom versions will not have. The online version is being provided as a public information tool. All materials on the website can be downloaded or printed free of charge.

Printed Handbook:

Would Include Basic Information (Goals, Objectives, Strategies, Indicators, and Comprehensive Plan Map) Only. The printed version will have each chapter separated by tabbed inserts and would be published in a 3 ring binder (not spiral bound). It should be noted that according to state law, the comprehensive plan map is listed as an implementation method for the comprehensive plan but is not the comprehensive plan nor can it be substituted for the comprehensive plan. There will be a minimal charge for the handbook to cover printing costs.

Publically Accessible Print Version:

8 page newspaper insert, including future statement, goals, objectives, strategies, and the comprehensive plan map. The newspaper insert will be provided free of charge.
