The George Wright Society. Private conservation and park development/planning organization. In addition to sponsoring conferences, the George Wright Society publishes Forum, a quarterly interdisciplinary journal on parks, park planning, and conservation.
National Recreation and Park Association: Professional organization that, among other things, establishes recreation levels of service (LOS) and accredits academic programs related to parks and recreation. NRPA publishes the Journal of Leisure Research.
